Italian as a Mother Tongue is for native Italian-speaking children who wish to prepare for Italian exams. These children benefit from studies in their native language. The program follows the Italian School curriculum outlined by the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR). Classes are taught by qualified native Italian teachers. Lessons last a maximum of 5 hours per week and take place during school hours. Participation in the Italian language course is optional.
Italian course
The Italian language course program at Britannia International School is comprehensively and progressively structured for elementary school students, ensuring solid preparation.
Our primary school curriculum is based on the National Guidelines and the MIM (Ministry of Education and Merit) guidelines, ensuring education aligned with Italian educational standards.
The training program aims to prepare students to take the aptitude test at the end of fifth grade.
Suitability Exam -
End of Primary School cycle
In accordance with current legislation for students attending non-state schools or receiving homeschooling, Britannia International School supports its students in the admission process for the aptitude test.
● Ministerial Program: The lessons of Italian, Mathematics, History and Geography strictly follow the MIM program, ensuring that each student acquires the skills required at a national level
● Official Certification: At the end of the fifth year, the aptitude test will be chaired by an external commission composed of state primary school teachers, who will issue a certificate of aptitude. The school also prepares not only the curriculum, but also the necessary documentation and skills portfolio to be presented to the commission.
